View from the entrance
Standing back from the entrance : the large stones to the right are big enough to have been capstones.
The orthostat in front seems to have a carved L shape, possibly the remains of a ‘porthole’ entry to the inner tomb.
Looking out from the chevet – the earth/stone tumulus still reaches the height of the walls, on three sides of this inner tomb.
The dolmen’s setting is superb: looking south with Alaric dominating the valley of the river Aude, and Canigou beyond.
The remains of a stone borie, or temporary shelter.
